Jean Edwards Obituary
We announce the death of Jean Edwards (Shannon, Mississippi), who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 76. Jean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Lee "PeeWee" Edwards; her parents, Atwell Rogers (Qmilla Rogers) and Qmilla Rogers; her sisters, Ludene McCormick Haney and Betty Jernigan; and her sister-in-law Linda Tully George.
She is survived by: her children, William Edwards of Shannon and Ashley Leigh Lindley (Chris) of Saltillo; her siblings, Minnie Dale Dillard of Shannon, Dona Wise (Gib) of Okolona, Carl Rogers (Geneva) of Houston and Tommy Rogers (Dottie) of Okolona; her grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Courtney Roberts and Graci Leigh Lindley; and her stepgrandchildren, Ashlee Floyd and Mandi Guthrie. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brewer Baptist Church (302 Co Rd 520, Shannon, MS 38868). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
