He was predeceased by : his parents, Willy Lucas and Ethel Lucas; his son Donald Lucas; his brothers, Alton Lucas, Sam Lucas and James Edward Lucas; and his granddaughter Allison Lucas.

He is survived by : his wife Helen Harris Lucas of Shubuta, MS; and his children, Jimmy E. Lucas of Shubuta, MS, Brenda Lucas Haney (James) of Mustang, OK and Bronnice Lucas Green of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
