He is survived by: his children, James Funchess of McComb, MS, Donell Simms, Jr. of Silver Creek, MS, Donavon Simms of Silver Creek, MS, Charlotte Lee of Sumrall, MS, Sharon Weathersby of Ridgeland, MS and Stephanie Simms of Plano; and his siblings, Lionell Simms of Las Vegas, NV, Melvin Simms of West Memphis, AR, Keith Bridges of Baton Rouge, LA, Ricky Bridges of Notasulga, AL, Gwen Daniels of Silver Creek, MS, Jeanette Jackson of Hattiesburg, MS and Belinda Magee of Prentiss, MS. He is also survived by grandchildren: 12; great-grandchildren.
