He was predeceased by: his father Marvin; his brothers, Belford, Robert, Alford and Carroll Speights; and his grandson Eddie Jake Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Speights; his children, Jimmy Speights (Hope), Sandy Abshire (Johnny) and Sherry Smith (Eddie); and his grandchildren, Marissa Davis (Ervin), Jessie Henderson (Jacob), Jadon Speights, Rebecca Speights, Brittney Smith, Erin Reynolds (Austin), Dalton Abshire and Bailey Shumaker (Jonathan). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
