He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chivers and Mireille Chivers. He is survived by: his wife Gretta Jobst Chivers; his sisters, Karen Chambers (Bill) and Denise Burke (Greg); and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Chambers, Thomas Burke, Erin Weiner (Kevin), Leacy Burke and Katie Burke.
