Though Ida Kate may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Mitchell and Mary Mollie Adkins Mitchell; and her brothers, John Mitchell, Jr. and Tommy Mitchell. She is survived by: her husband Joe Nelson; her daughters, Mary Jo Yarbrough (Dennis) of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Janice Collins (Terry) of Dothan, Alabama and Jackie Ackerman (Ricky) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and her brother Ricky Lee Mitchell of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
