He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Travis and Minnie Staggs (Miller); and his siblings, Mary Francis Trammel and Stephen Staggs. He is survived by : his wife Mary Katherine Reed-Staggs of Hernando, MS; his children, Crystal Byrd (Rick), Ginger Colyer (Chris) and Stephen Staggs (Valerie); his stepchildren, Tracey Hartness and Mark Reed; and his sister Shirley Marise. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Rd E, Southaven, MS 38672). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
