He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Wesley Gitchell and Patty June Neely Gitchell; and his son Lee Steven Gitchell, Jr.. He is survived by: his close friend Anita Barnes; his children, Wesley Gitchell (Ayesha) of Lexington, SC and Amanda Gitchell of Buford, GA; and his siblings, Gary Gitchell of Alabama and Brenna Vest of Marion, AR.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Road, Memphis, TN 38119 in memory of Mr. Gitchell.
