With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maxine Thornton of Southaven, Mississippi, born in Dyer, Tennessee, who passed away on February 9, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Landers Parrish and Nervia Epperson Parrish; her husband Joe Thornton; and her siblings, Marjorie Jones, Sue Owen, Jean May, Joy Norton and Buddy Parrish.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Leona Johnson (Sid) and Linda Dianne Pryor (Steve); her granddaughters, Nichole Garlington, Laurie Porter (Alex) and Courtney Efird (Derick); and her great grandchildren, Sophie, David, Sarah, Emma and Hudson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Dementia Society of America.
