He was predeceased by : his parents, Owen Ashby and Elizabeth Ashby (Ware); and his brother Ben Ashby. He is survived by : his wife Rhonda Snook Ashby; his son Michael Jason Ashby (Octavia); his brother James Ellis; his pets, Ellie, Goldie, Billy, Lucy, Buster and Robby; and his nieces and nephews, Cindy Johnson, Gabrielle Ashby, Bennie Owens Ashby and Chris Ashby.

Memorial donations may be made to Ark Rescue Rehab & Foster (ARRF), 15362 Hwy 3, Tunica, MS 38676.
