He was predeceased by: his parents, Lula Mae and William Garner McNeil of Haywood County, Tennessee.; and his siblings, W. G. "Buddy" McNeil, Ralph E. McNeil and Dorothy L. Delugach.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Jean Robertson McNeil; his children, Richard L. McNeil, Jr. of Southaven, Michael W. McNeil (Carol) of Nesbit and Lori Lee McNeil of Hernando; and his grandchildren, Jennifer McNeil, Amanda McNeil, Rebecca McNeil Pannell, Chris McNeil, Nick McNeil, Hudson Albers, Clayton Albers and David Albers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
