He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Oakes McSpadden and John Scott McSpadden; and his brother John Scott McSpadden IV. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen McSpadden; his daughter Stacy McSpadden; his brother Malcolm Oakes McSpadden (Margaret); and his sister-in-law Trudy McSpadden Allmon (George). He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, as well as many loving cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Broadway Baptist Church.

“Bob was a lovely neighbor who enjoyed his family, his friends and, his neighbors. He was a very smart and kind man who seemed to enjoy his work and he took an interest in people. It will be so strange to hear his dog bark and then look outside and not see Bob standing out there fusing with that dog. He will be eternally missed.
