He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank C. Carter, Jr. and Willie V. Carter; his daughter Melanie K. Carter; and his siblings, Sherrie Gurley, Tony Carter and Pattie Duke.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda K. Carter; his son Ronnie Craig Carter; and his brothers, Danny Carter (Linda) and Rodney Carter (Annie).

The family requests any memorial donations be directed to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
