He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Romer Dobson Pitman and Margaret Bowdon Pitman. He is survived by: his wife Brandy Prince Pitman of Southaven; his children, Mark Wroten (Brittney) of Port Lavaca, TX, Brandon Wroten (Tricia) of Osceola, AR, Emily McClelland (Zack) of Clinton, MS, Sydney Pitman of Dallas, TX and Whitney Pitman of Dallas, TX; his siblings, Susan Pitman Dobson (Joe) of Collierville, TN, Emily Gale Moore (Reggie) of Oahu, HI and Timothy Dobson Pitman of Gainesville, GA; and his grandchildren, Chamber Wroten, Lyncoln Wroten, Sailor Wroten, Jordan Price, Landen Stricklin, Briley Stricklin, Lane Ruddick, Oliver McClelland and Elizabeth McClelland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
He was a pioneer in gynecologic surgery and made significant contributions to the field, particularly as one of the first to perform vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) in his region.
