He was predeceased by: his siblings, Joseph H. Houston and Myrtle A. Bankston. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Pickler Houston; his children, Doug Houston (Jan), Russ Houston (Suzy) and Janet Beall (Darin) of Starkville, Mississippi; and his grandchildren, Rebekah Overstreet (Jeff), John Houston (Meagan), Josiah Maughan, Nathanael Houston, Michael Houston (Lauren), David Houston (Victoria), Joseph Houston and Emily Beall. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, Starkville, Children's Building Fund.
