It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Lucile Putt Thomas of Starkville, Mississippi, born in Saltillo, Mississippi, who passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Q Putt and Louie Dye Putt; and her husband Jack H. Thomas, Sr.. She is survived by: her sons, Jack H. Thomas (Lynn) of Houston, TX and Robert B. Thomas (Debbie) of Starkville; her grandchildren, Chris (Lesli) of Monroe, LA, Mallory Thomas of Cypress, TX, Tiffany Thomas of Columbia, SC, Chase Thomas (Codi) of Montgomery, TX and Heather Hernandez (Marcos) of Raeford, NC; and her siblings, Jenny Files of Starkville, Shirley Henderson of Huntsville, AL and Bobby Putt (Margie) of Cuba, NM. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (201 W Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the same location.
