He was predeceased by: his parents, B. F. Smith and Mary Alyce Bounds Smith; his brothers-in-law, Gary Jones and Walker Jones, Jr.; and his niece Parker Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Greer Jones Smith; his children, Sherry Smith Wilbourne (Rob), Benjamin Walker Smith (Jane) and Hunter McKeithen Smith; his grandchildren, Jonathon Wray (Katie), Stephen Wray (Regan), John Robert Wilbourne, Mary Elaine Wilbourne and Elizabeth Walker Smith; and his sister Lelaine Smith Weilenman (Johnny).
