He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marion McReynolds, Sr. and Pauline Swan McReynolds; his siblings, Sara Felicia McReynolds, James Marion McReynolds Jr. and Sam; his sister-in-law Frances McReynolds; and his niece Polly McReynolds Stone.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Montgomery McReynolds; his sons, Dr. Tom McReynolds (Lynda) and Dr. Russ McReynolds (Sonjia) of Starkville; his grandchildren, John Thomas McReynolds III, Mary Margaret McReynolds, Harris McReynolds, Will McReynolds, Mac McReynolds and Sara Stokes McReynolds; his brother Charles McReynolds (Betty) of Franklin, TN; and his sister-in-law Gwen McReynolds. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
