She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmy Black and Alice Gray Black; her son James Dustin Meyers; and her siblings, James Black and Millie Black.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Abbott of Sturgis, MS; her daughters, Bethaney Rodgers of Sturgis, MS and Stormey Metts (Stephen) of Louisville, MS; her stepsons, Tommie Abbott of Mantee, MS and Grover Abbott (Hannale) of Starkville, MS; and her brother William Black (Betty) of Sturgis, MS. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (201 W Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
