He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. James M. Spikes and Della Broadus Spikes; his wife Jean Taylor of Isola, MS.; and his siblings, James B. Spikes, Jean Blount, Earlene Nolan and Mildred Spikes.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Michael P. Spikes of Jonesboro, AR and Guy B. Spikes (Sara) of Madison, MS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (201 W Lampkin St, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
