He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Gardner of State Line, MS; his daughters, Stacy Shirley of State Line, MS and Sedji Doxey (Kevin) of Meridian, MS; his sister Beatrice Grimes of Georgia; his grandsons, Derek Thornton (Brooke) of State Line, MS, Kaleb Thornton (Kaley) of State Line, MS, Ethan Doxey (Hannah) of Meridian, MS and Mason Doxey of Meridian, MS; and his great grandchildren, Brody Thornton and Kennedy Thornton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the County Line Baptist Church (614 County Line Church Rd, State Line, MS 39362). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
