She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Gardner and Myra Lee Payne Gardner. She is survived by: her children, Myra Reeves and John Paul Reeves (Elise); her grandchildren, Jack Reeves and Collins Reeves; her siblings, Jinya Lea Gardner Clarke, Bill Gardner (Paul Warnke) and Lynn Williams; her siblings' children, Graham Clarke (Sharon), Ryan Clarke and Carla Clarke; and her great-nieces, AnnaLea Pettigrew (Kieran) and Abigail Clarke.
Joy's family requests that donations be made to McComb Animal Shelter or PALS Rescue in her memory instead of flowers.
