She was predeceased by : her mother Minnie Lee Alexander; her husband Smittie Buie, Sr.; her son Gregory Johnson; her father Ellis Alexander; and her brothers, Jimmy of Talmadge, LT, Paul, John, Arthur Alexander and Boogie.

She is survived by : her son Gary; her daughter-in-law Kaye Johnson of Summit, MS; her grandson Scott Johnson of Magnolia; her brother Earl Alexander (Nelly) of College Station, TX; her close friend Paula Griffin; and her cousin Montee Bowman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins.
