He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Mitchell Sr. and Maudie Mitchell; his wife Gloria Jean Whitehead; his sisters, Estelene Craft (Ped), Joann Broussard, Polly Reid and Betty Brewer; and his grandson Danyel Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Williams (David) of Terry, Mississippi and Steven Mitchell (Heather) of Terry, Mississippi. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
