He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Ann Smith Hampton; his parents, Earl Hendrix and Marie Johnson Hampton; and his siblings, H. Hampton Jr. (Martha) and Marianne Jameson.
He is survived by: his son Brent Smith Hampton; his daughter-in-law Sarah Barker Hampton of Thaxton, MS.; his brother-in-law James Jameson of Rutledge, TN.; and his sibling's children, Kennon Hampton (Molly) of Rosemark, TN, Lee Hampton (Becky) of Kennesaw, Charlotte Roberson (James) of Bolton, TN, Gail Jenkins (Jack) of Rutledge, TN and Cherie Blakey of Rosemark, TN.
