It is with sadness that the passing of Gary Allan Godwin Sr. of Tunica, Mississippi is shared. Gary, born on July 30, 1957, passed away on August 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Gary will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Gary by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Gary is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Gary’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Godwin and Sarah Godwin; and his daughter Brandi Godwin. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Doolittle of Tunica and Fred Godwin (Paula) of Alabaster, AL; his children, Allan Godwin of Greenville, MS, Stacey Godwin of Alabaster, AL and Korina Godwin of Alabaster, AL; his close friend Diane Springfield; and his nephew Joel Godwin. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
