He was predeceased by : his parents, Audi Cooper and Sally Cooper; his former life partner Martha Cooper; his wife Bonnie Cooper; and his siblings, Talmage Cooper, Dwight Cooper, Pauline Helms and Maxine Wiggington.

He is survived by : his children, Melody Littlejohn (Rickey) and Marty Cooper; his grandchildren, Marcus Cooper (Christine), Jessi Cooper, Claire Tatum (Preston) and Aaron Littlejohn; and his sister Martilla Croft. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
