She was predeceased by : her parents, Rev. J. C. Grubbs and Ruth Verna Reagan Grubbs; her husband Gilbert Hopkins "Hop" Maxwell; and her brother Dr. Dwight L. Grubbs. She is survived by : her siblings, Maxine McCaw (Larry) of Charlotte, George Grubbs (Patty) of Monroe, LA, Dr. Jerry Grubbs (Jan) of Anderson, IN and Dr. Perry Grubbs (Sue) of Okolona, MS. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Baxter First Church of God (446 Elm St, Baxter, TN 38544). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
