He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Franklin and Lucille Lucus Franklin; his grandson Charles Franklin; and his siblings, Billy Dean Franklin, Prentiss Franklin and Iva Jean Franklin.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Ladnier Franklin; his children, Marcus "Mark" Eugene Franklin (Lynn) and Belinda C. Wright (Steve); his grandchildren, Justin Scovel and Christine Wright; his great grandchildren, Dakota Franklin and Waylon Franklin; and his siblings, Allen Franklin and Margaret Ann Wilson (Jerry).
