It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Rutland Newell of Tupelo, Mississippi, born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her parents, Andrew Clifford and Mary Haddox Rutland of Bassfield, MS; her sisters, Jackie Rutland Lott of Bassfield, MS and Sandy McAlister (Tony) of Hattiesburg, MS.; and her grandson Brannan Newell of Guntown, MS..

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Double Church Cemetery Fund, 1015 Sumrall Rd. Bassfield, MS 39421.
