He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Prince and Lois Jones Prince. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Baker Prince; his children, Joanne Prince of Tupelo, Julian Prince, Jr. of Tupelo, John Prince (Winnie) of The Villages, FL and David Prince of Oxford; his grandchildren, John Prince, Jr. (Leigh) of Tupelo, Elizabeth Johnston (Joe) of Normal, IL, Wendy Frazier (Chip) of Tupelo, Jacob Prince (Taylor) of Tupelo and Ashley Swerdling (Dayne) of Atlanta, GA; and his great grandchildren, Lillian, Annie, Emily, Julian, Maggie, Mary Frances, Avery, Josephine, Glen Arthur and Rebecca.
He was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship Grant to travel the nation to observe good schools in action.
