He was predeceased by: his parents, Norvell Salters and Lois Kimble Salters; his wife Katherine Bobo; his sons, Lee Earnest Salters and Lester V. Salters; his grandchildren, Joel Salters, Courtney Henderson and Byron Salters; and his daughter-in-law Gwenda Hodges Salters.
He is survived by: his children, John Salters (Carol), Barbara Crump (Bobby), Melvin Salters (Debra), Rev. Gentry Salters (Karen), Vivian Clark (David), Gwen Powell (Eric), Gary Salters and Vanessa Salters.
