He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Alexander and C'Belle Bethany (McDonald); his siblings, Maureen Porter and Louis Bethany, Jr.; his children, Fred Anderson (Andy) and Tammy Anderson; and the mother of his children Jeanette Haddad Bethany.
He is survived by: his wife Marcelle C. Bethany; his sister Bonnie Robinett; his nieces and nephews, Robert C. Bethany, Jr. (Annette), Rodger A. Bethany (Alisha), Cynthia L. Bethany, Deborah K. Christy (Mike) and Bobby Delane Easley; his grandsons, Robert Bethany, III, Dylan Bethany, Colton Bethany, David Brandenburg and Dillon Anderson; and his great grandchild Ethan Ray. He is also survived by his son by marriage (Stephanie), 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
