We announce the death of Peggy Ritter Estes (Tupelo, Mississippi), who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 86. Peggy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ritter and Ruby Brazeal Ritter; her grandparents, Will, Lucy Towery Ritter, Travis and Alice Sullins Brazeal; her brothers, Buddy and Russell Young; her siblings-in-law, Charlene Tomlin, Jimmie Ann Layman, Jerry Whitt, James Swindle and Robert Leon Estes; her nephew Kevin Powell; and her niece Polly Young.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Estes of Shannon; her children, Pam Holley, Kim Herndon (Marsha), LaSonia Jones (Alex), Jeff Estes (Angie) and Kristi Lindley (Randy); her grandchildren, Casey Poole (Gary), Dawn Herndon, Kayla Bryant (Jason), Matt Herndon (Courtenay), Wes Jones, Elizabeth Estes, Cady Waite (Justin), Morgan Gillentine (Wesley), Cooper Lindley and Corbin Lindley; her siblings, Marie Whitt, Carolyn Powell (David), Marilyn Burns (Walter) and Johnny Young (Carol); and her sisters-in-law, Linda Hood and Barbara Young. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM.
