He was predeceased by: his father Robert Nolen Sheffield; his wife Treva Davis Sheffield; his children, Tracie Steele, Perry Sheffield Jr. and Kenny Sheffield; and his grandparents, Byron, Lorene Vaughn Payne, Jeff and Estelle Summers Sheffield.

He is survived by: his mother Jimmie Mae Payne Sheffield of Mantachie; his children, George "Mikey" Sheffield, Savanna Whitten of Skyline and Jessica Bailey of Mobile, AL; and his grandchildren, Meaghann (Bug), Alexander, Caroline, Emma, Connor, Isaiah, Samantha Barr, Ava Marie Smith, Kaci Sellers and Lexi (Alexis Lyles).
