He was predeceased by : his parent J. C. Smith; his siblings-in-law, Stanley White and Lynn Smith; and his son-in-law Dennis Pate. He is survived by : his wife Elenor; his daughter Atonya Smith (Mike); and his grandchildren, Kiersten Pate Carothers (Chris), Josh and David (Gui). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
