He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Tackett and Sue Pinna Tackett; and the mother of his children Diane Tackett. He is survived by: his wife Kathey Mashburn Tackett of Mooreville, MS; his children, Nick Tackett (Randi) of Mooreville, MS, Jeffrey Jackson (Wendy) of Mooreville, MS, Aletha Knox (Greg) of Mooreville, Dreama George (Scott) and Dawn Mashburn of Saltillo; his sisters, Pam Sanders, Tammy Tackett, Chris Stokes and Teresa Sparks; and his grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, Breanna, Brandy, Brittany, Brandon, Riley, Alana, Lexie, Matthew, Noah, Josh and Megan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tupelo Church of God (1813 Briar Ridge Rd, Tupelo, MS 38804). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
