He was predeceased by: his wife Addie Mae Powell; his son Todd Snipes; and his parents, Lamar Snipes and Olene Snipes. He is survived by: his children, Al Snipes (Mary) of Tupelo, Doug Snipes (Melissa) of Fulton, Tammie Snipes (Glen) of Randolph and Ann Chambliss (Thomas) of Tupelo; and his brother Grover Snipes of Texas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
