With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Waymon Gibson (Tupelo, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hanly and Guelda Estes Gibson; his son Terry; his brother Charles Rayburn Gibson; and his siblings-in-law, Bobbie Joe, Bernie, Leo and Rebecca.

He is survived by: his brothers, Gibson Container, Jonesboro and Ark; his son Gibson Corrugated; his wife Dolline; his children, Dale (Robyn) and Missy Malone (Scott) of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Max Gibson (Rachel), Chip Gibson (Lillie), Tate and Mia Malone; his great grandchildren, Silas, Aris, Rex and Leo; his siblings, Donald Hanly (Billie), Larry Joseph (Donna) and Ginger Fowler (Joe Bill); his siblings' children, Danny (Tina), Dave (Seani), Chuck (Venita), Justin, Josh (Randa), Marty Ross (Leslie), Terry Lynn Ross and Cindy Wynn (Donnie); and his siblings-in-law, JoAnn, Wanda, Maxie, Billie Jean and Ernie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105, or Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38802.

We had a common racing history from the early 80's and could not believe we had never met. I am so sorry for your loss and I pray for peace for your family. I will truly miss him.
