He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mannon Thomas and Geraldine Sparks Thomas New; and his sister Jan Barham. He is survived by: his wife Sarah K. Thomas of Tupelo, MS; his daughters, Beth Walker (Jeffrey) of Tupelo, MS, Jennifer Powell (David) of Collierville, TN and Amanda Thomas of Tupelo, MS; his grandchildren, Katy Avery, Drew Walker, Josh Walker, Jackson Powell and Finley Powell; and his great grandchildren, Taytum Walker, Macon Walker and Jay Walker.
