She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivey Melvin and Mertie Bell Laird; her husband James Carlton Smith; and her children, James Kevin, Tony, Timothy Smith and Tammy Smith.

She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Harris (Everette). She is also survived by nephews, nieces and friends.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Greenland Baptist Church Cemetery.
