He was predeceased by : his former life partner Pat Butler; and his parents, Cecil Butler and Annie Ruth Butler. He is survived by : his wife Sue Butler; his sons, Chris Butler (Suzy) and Eric Butler (Stacy); and his grandchildren, Cody Butler (Kelsey), Alicia Ferguson (Ken), Charlotte Butler, SiddaLee Butler, Caleb Butler and Joshua Butler. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
