He was predeceased by : his parent Earn; his son David Gainey; his grandson Dewayne Gainey; and his siblings, Billy Gainey, Carl Gainey and Jo-anne Gainey.

He is survived by : his wife Dolly Gainey; his children, Catina (Jackie McFee), Mandie Mendia and Danny Gainey (Ruth); his daughter-in-law Lisa Gainey; his grandchildren, David Gainey, Brianne Gainey, Jenna Gainey, Jordan Barber and Hailey McKinion; his great grandchildren, Kane Gainey and Little David Gainey; and his sister Nell (Buddy Spence).

Honorary Pallbearer: Lynn Wilkerson, Family requests that no flowers or gifts be sent.
