He was predeceased by: his parents, B. Brantley Brooks and Wilma Van Dusen Brooks; and his sons, Van Brooks II and David Alderman. He is survived by: his wife Bobbye Faye Brooks; and his daughters, Cindy McGuire (Terry) and Dawn Donald (Robert). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
