She was predeceased by : her father Jacob Weis; her husband Joseph Collins Melton; her siblings, Mary Weis Farmer, Ruth Weis Flournoy, Mildred Weis Porter and William Jacob Weis; and her nephews, Bruce Flournoy, Travis Cox and Richard Stuart Flournoy.

She is survived by : her children, Terraseta Hummel (Don) of Greenwood, Camille Brown (Gary) of New York and Joseph Collins Melton, Jr. of Ridgeland; her nieces, Carol Ely of Roanoke, VA and Janet Flournoy of London, England; her grandchildren, Thomas E. "Ted" Hodges, Jr. (Melissa), Tiffany Hammons (Bill) and Tyler W. Hodges (Olivia); her great grandchildren, Thomas, Mattox and Gracie Hodges; her grandchildren, Stewart, Katherine, Ansley, Patrick Hammons, Tanner and Grayson Hodges; and her pet Lucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shongalo Presbyterian Church, Christ's Cross at the Crossroads, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption of Mississippi or to the charity of your choice.
