He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Neely and Juanita Dyer Atkinson. He is survived by : his wife Betty Scott Atkinson; his sons, Matthew Scott Atkinson of Gettysburg, PA and John Dyer Atkinson (Kellie) of Houston, MS; his grandchildren, Ben, Truett, Walter, Job, Emma and Aubrey Atkinson; and his brothers, Gerry (Jo) of Ridgeland and Mike (Lynn) of Columbus.
