With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Julia Shannon Yandell of Vance, Mississippi, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on December 20, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Claude Shannon and Julia Shannon; and her siblings, C. R. Shannon, Lawrence Shannon and Janie Turner.

She is survived by : her children, Benjamin Sturdivant Yandell, Jr. (Kim) of New York City, Mae Yandell Hitchcock (Dan) of Corvallis and Jane Yandell Nalty (Raymond) of Madison, Mississippi.; and her great grandchildren, Crinan, Charlotte, Quinn and Bryant Nalty.
