He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Reed Sr. and Delia Reed; his wife Rosemary Reed; his sister Cora Evans; his sons, Sidney Earl Reed, Anthony Mitchell and William Gerald Mitchell; and his granddaughter Undrelle Reed.

He is survived by: his sisters, Joyce Burch of Gautier, Sharon Reed of Gautier, Mississippi and Andrea Reed of Gautier, Mississippi; and his daughters, Susie Marie Jenkins of Gautier and Marie Dunn of Snellville, Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; extended family members, cousins, church family, and dear friends.

Throughout his life, he embodied the principles of brotherhood, charity, and service.
