He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruby Lois Cowart Harper; and his son Robbie Harper. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Goff Harper; his children, Debbie Harper, Richard L. Harper, Jr., Shorty Harper (Martha) and Terry L. Harper (Kim); his sisters, Kay Kraft, Dianne Gregory and Sheila Josephs (Brian); and his stepchildren, Ann Inabinette (Wake), Debra Davis (Arthur), Eugene Mallette (Donna) and Hal Mallette. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren.
