He was predeceased by: his wife Jaunita Douglas; his parents, Carson Childers and Annie Mae Foard Childers; and his siblings, Geraldine Childers Cockrell, Carson Childers, Graham Childers and William Childers.
He is survived by: his sons, David Wayne Childers and Danny Ray Childers (Jeannie); and his grandchildren, David Childers, Shawn Childers, Caleb Philly, Tori Adams and Kristen Philly. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
